As far as an electric company goes I really like them. Living in brown county we get a lot of outages in the spring and winter and they make it easy to report an outage and I am impressed how quickly they get the issue resolved. I have had them for about 12 years now and I haven't had enormous uptick in rates like most of Indiana is seeing right now between private equity companies and data centers.
4th time that I've had to re- enter / set up automatic payments... that suddenly stop processing, the funds are there, same card,..blah blah blah. Oh you have a disconnect notice hmmm.🤔 Then while online correcting THEIR problem again!!! You try to pay the full amount of the balance and you CAN'T!!! You have to pay in 2 separate payments...Moronic!!! How about ○ amount due ○ past balance ○ current balance. No!!!!! that would be way to easy . How about gett'n sum m air. My parents are within REMC’s service area since they moved here and this is by far the worst power company service I have ever seen. From the start of them getting their power and fiber optic services, both through REMC. Process and timeline to get set up took months for internet. But the worst part is their lack of response to downed service lines and hazardous conditions due to those downed lines. Called scifiber, spoke with Robin, she was rude and harassing. Talked over us while we talked with her about our bill, very poor customer service. If anyone else has had issues with Robin and her customer service skills please let Sciremc Fiber know. She should be removed from the position. Everyone else we have ever talked with at sciremc has always been friendly, but not Robin, she acts like it is a burden to do her job. Power outages occur far too often, even during mild wind. Given the significant investment in new office buildings, it would be reasonable to expect similar investment in infrastructure improvements to prevent these disruptions.
